To head out into the canyons in Malibu, I'm driving the very Porsche 992 Turbo S that you could be winning with Omaze, finished in GT Silver over Truffle Brown leather, and well equipped with technology. Having first driven the 992 Turbo S on the German Autobahn when it launched, it's time for something quite different for this run on some twisty mountain roads to the north of Los Angeles. The latest generation of the Turbo S has been received with great acclaim for good reason as it's an exceptional car across the board - which is perhaps one of the downsides in that it does everything too well, that some emotion is lost along the way. Arguably, exactly the point of the car in the first place!
For me though, the next Porsche I'd add to my garage to join my Taycan Turbo S is not to be a Turbo S, but hopefully and with all fingers crossed, the new 981 Cayman GT4 RS when it's launched! During the drive in the Turbo S I shall explain all and why the GT4 RS is my choice and best fit for the Shmeemobiles.

A colleague took me for a drive along the same coastal roads and through Topanga State Park in his vintage Mustang We probably didn’t get above 25mph but I’ve never been so scared in my life as I thought the car was going to roll over on every corner

I have not watched a Shmee in about a year. Saw Tim with Mr. David Lee on the IG and looked to see if he has posted on the SF yet. with all due respect, this video failed to show how much of a beast this car is in a straight line and its launch control. Because it's basically the best car in the world for that at the moment. Obviously, this was a very nice road to drive the 911 and it looked amazing, but you should've included some 0-100 times and maybe somewhat of a drag race.

The 991.2 turbo s is better IMO. The sound is so much better. The interior is way more “race car” like and analog and it looks better in my opinion. The new 992 should not be a 220k plus car and 50k more than the 991.2

Why are you doing a video on a car you don’t have a passion for? You get all kinds of performance options for this car...suspension 10mm lower, custom carbon fiber body parts, custom seats, custom ceramic rotors, custom exhaust (that many others who do videos on this car love). This car is absolutely incredible!!!
I think the problem with the 911 is that it's too German, too perfect. It doesn't have the soul or x factor like a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. Yes the 911 is perfect for everything, but maybe that's also its biggest flaw..
While the 992 is a better car in every way, more refined and comfortable for daily driving, I can’t help but like the 991.2 more. I’m lucky enough to be able to drive these cars and there’s just something so much more special feeling about the 991 compared to regular Carreras (unlike 992). The 991 is also more visceral and exciting imo. And still very fast, even stock. While more muted on video, I prefer the sound as well. That being said the 992 Turbo S is an incredible car and it’s tied for the spot of ultimate 911 with the GT3 depending on what you want. I’d LOVE to have one!
